Media Centre - Systems Labelling offer choice to "green" packagers
Press Release 4th February 2008
Systems Labelling has successfully developed a complete range of filmic materials for the packaging industry. Options include recyclable, bio-degradable and home compostable labels that have been developed as a result of comprehensive R&D projects and utilising an inhouse coating facility. This enables the label printer to match face materials with the relevant recyclable backing liner. Particular progress has been achieved in the peel “n” reseal market for application on wipes for the cosmetic and healthcare sectors. Indeed Systems Labelling have previously received an OPPack Award from ExxonMobil as a result of their achievements in this area.
Sales Director Tony Exford commented “Given the golden rule is mono we are keen to offer our customers choice, our ethos and appetite for continuous improvement means we are willing to spend time and resource developing products by working alongside our customers. The results show we consistently produce labels fit for purpose.” He continues “There are growing pressures for the industry to produce mono packaging and quite often the label is the final piece in the jigsaw. For brands that are keen to achieve the ultimate “green” position the home-compostable label applied to the correct packaging means brands can cost effectively display the following logos on their products.”
Systems Labelling self-adhesive label material was developed to comply with the key industry standards including; EN13432, Dincerto and OK Compost Scheme and is available on a range of recyclable liners.
