Media Centre - Inspiring Enterprise Award Winners 2009

Systems Labelling scoop not one but two "Inspiring Enterprise" Awards.

The Glyndŵr University Enterprise Awards ceremony honours excellence in companies across many sectors throughout North Wales and North West England. As nominated finalists in three of the six categories Systems Labelling were voted outright winners in "Excellence in Customer Service" and "Success Through People."

The UK's largest independent label printer sees this recognition as testimony to the efforts of a multi-skilled workforce who deliver premium quality label solutions, products and services. Managing Director Steve Pickford comments "Both awards recognise the continual development of our business and is a result of the efforts made by every department across all three production sites.

Excellence In Customer Service was awarded for the continual focus on every aspect of the customers experience including; a multi-faceted Customer Service Team who demonstrated reactive and personable customer service skills, an impressive technical knowledge and the ability to manage the order trail using a bespoke and truly transparent management information system.

Supporting this and contributing to the overall assessment; the implementation and management of stringent quality control procedures ensure customers receive labels fit for purpose. Quality & Technical Director David Acott adds "Where issues arise we have the systems, people and knowledge in place to react swiftly and positively to eradicate errors."

Success Through People was awarded for an impressive track record of developing people through an inhouse performance related development programme. An enviable staff retention record coupled with the creation of 30 new jobs and a multi-skilled production team that provides real flexibility in a deadline driven industry is one of the areas Systems Labelling adds value for their customers.

Director Gwyn Bouch added "We are delighted to receive these awards, industry awards are important however equally pleasing is the recognition of our contribution to the local economy." The label printer has created an additional 30 jobs so far this year which bucks the trend in a competitive industry.

The awards cap an eventful year against the backdrop of an unsettling economic environment for many.

Innovation, innovation and more innovation is the mantra for the Deeside, Runcorn and more recently Essex based label printer. Not one but two additional production sites in the space of 4 months is just one example of the remarkable achievements this year. The specialist Runcorn site houses the In-mould (IML) and Wraparound production both launched with great success this year. The Essex site is the result of an acquisition and provides a fast turnaround service to a niche area of the label market. All this has meant a strengthening and broadening of the Systems Labelling brand.
