Growth drives organisational reshuffle

Continued success has driven an organisational reshuffle at the UK's largest independent label printer. David Acott a recognised industry figure has been promoted to Operations and Group Technical Director. The appointment is largely due to the successful launch of new products in-mould and wraparound labels and the continual demand for both blank and printed self-adhesive solutions.

Acott has an impressive career history in the label printing industry including the implementation and delivery of quality control processes and new printing techniques across the globe; in addition to developing partnership programmes with blue-chip companies. Commenting on his new role David is clearly relishing the challenge ahead "I am looking forward to building on the technical capabilities and channelling our inherent appetite for innovation." He adds "My brief is to perform a dual role; firstly day to day management of our production and QC teams whilst maintaining the external accountabilities including technical support for our customers." Promoted from Technical Manager after only 2 years service is testament to the impact Acott has already made and is evidence of Systems Labelling's commitment to developing its people from within.

Managing Director Steve Pickford comments. "Our predicted growth and additional pipeline business has required some strategic thought; the outcome is a new production management structure and the need to recruit for specific roles for the department. Meeting the day to day production demands within our business, whilst maintaining our quality standards and customer service, has been the bedrock for our success to date. This appointment and further organisational changes will strengthen our management structure whilst adding the flexibility, controls and skills we require to maintain our position in the market.

He continues "The recent review also identified the need for two new management positions that will report directly to David. Firstly an Operations Manager who will focus on production efficiency and secondly a Quality Manager who will oversee the Quality Control Team on a day to day basis whilst implementing and maintaining QC systems."

Bucking the trend the recruitment doesn't stop there as the growing label printer is also recruiting for additional production staff in both its Deeside and Runcorn sites.
